Although the long title may put off readers, this book (in my opinion) is a must-read. Telling the story of a sixteen-year-old with Aspergers' syndrome from his own viewpoint, Mark Haddon's funny and touching novel has won the hearts of millions, and the Whitbread Prize in 2004.
